A Few CBD Fun Facts That May Surprise You

MINT HILL, NC – Got questions about CBD? Over the next few weeks, I will be sharing some really interesting “fun facts” about CBD. Here we go week#1.

CBD Fact #1: CBD comes in many forms…and we have them!!!!

CBD, or cannabidiol, is among hundreds of compounds found in cannabis plants. In fact, CBD is the result of heating cannabidiolic acid (CBDa) and decarboxylating it.

CBD can be extracted from cannabis plants (usually hemp plants) to produce several different products. These include but are not limited to oils, tinctures (liquid formulations), capsules, topicals (dermal patches or creams), edibles, and concentrates.

CBD Fact #2: CBD is safe and non-addictive..thats right it’s not addictive!

While some patients have reported mild side effects of CBD such as low blood pressure, fatigue or diarrhea, these are generally rare and not often problematic for most consumers of CBD products. Major organizations, including the World Health Organization (WHO) and the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), have determined CBD safe for human consumption.

CBD Fact #3: The endocannabinoid system plays an important role in our health.

The endocannabinoid system, or ECS, is a biological system that plays a vital role in regulating many of the body’s physiological processes. This system is thought to regulate functions such as memory, sleep, appetite and mood.

CBD interacts with the ECS by interacting with cannabinoid receptors found throughout the body, which then modulate other neurotransmitters in the brain to help alleviate symptoms.

CBD Fact #4: CBD will not get you high, but it might make you feel good.

CBD’s ability to provide relief without causing a high is attributed to its affinity for binding to CB2 receptors that manage pain and inflammation. However, unlike CB1 receptors that trigger a high when activated by THC, there is no evidence that CBD affects these receptors at all.

While it’s true that CBD is non-psychoactive, there is research that suggests other compounds found in cannabis may provide a mild “buzz” that can uplift and reduce stress or anxiety. These other cannabinoid compounds are often included in full-spectrum CBD products to stimulate what is known as the “entourage effect”.

CBD Fact #5: Animals have an ECS that CBD can stimulate.

Extensive research indicates the endocannabinoid system plays a similar role in animals as it does in humans. With that being said the same way that CBD can help us humans with our aches and pains, anxiety and stress it can also help our fur babies. Rather they are suffering from separation anxiety, old age and they have inflammation, arthritis, July 4th fireworks or just need to be safely calmed down. Heck, my Bryson gets his .25 dose daily he keeps me on my toes! LOL!

Regarding CBD for animals, early studies have shown promising results for treating a variety of ailments in pets, including anxiety, pain, and inflammation.

CBD Fact #6: You can’t overdose on CBD…I get this question alot.

There is no evidence that suggests it is possible to overdose on CBD, which means you can use it without the risk of overdosing or experiencing life-threatening effects.

Be aware that while it is not possible to overdose on CBD, taking too high of a dose in one go may cause minor, uncomfortable side effects such as dry mouth, digestive irritation, or drowsiness. If you’re unsure how much CBD to take, it’s always best to start with a low dose of CBD and gradually increase as needed. With our Carolina Hemp Company Sublingual oil, we suggest .25 twice a day OR .50 once a day.
